Location
Our self catering accommodation is situated on a working
farm (Westcourt Farm) about half a mile from the centre of Shorwell on the
B3399.
The Village nestles on the South West side of the Island
with rolling downs to the North and an unspoilt natural coastline to the
South. It is an ideal centre of walking or cycling holidays.
Shorwell itself is a
pretty, rural village which has managed to keep its charms hidden from most
of the tourist traffic. The Crown Inn, which has a stream running
through its gardens, is in the centre of the village and provides top
quality food and drink. The pub is opposite the 12th century church of
St Peter. There is a well-run general store and post office in the
village. There is a bus stop for Southern Vectis route 7 directly
outside the Cart House.
